ANNUAL PARISH MEETING
Under the Local Government Act 1972, every English parish must hold an annual meeting between the 1st of March and the 1st of June. Where there is a Parish Council, it is normally arranged by the Parish Council, and if the Chairman of the Parish Council is present, he or she must chair the meeting.
It is not a Parish Council meeting, and its purpose is to allow electors and local community groups to express views and concerns that the Parish Council should consider at its future meetings.
The Annual Parish Meeting can vote on a resolution but it is not legally binding.(except when it concerns allotments or trusts).
